Do you ever work yourself so much that you literally feel like every bone in your body is screaming at you to lay down and rest? And yet, you continue to push yourself, telling yourself you need to work harder and get things done, “rest doesn’t pay the bills”.

Well, lemme ask you this. What’s going to pay the bills when you’re in the hospital from a heart attack at 35? Or worse, dead. Lately, I’ve been hearing too many cases of young people suffering from heart attacks. There’s a reason we need a certain amount of sleep each night. There’s a reason all humans need to sleep, rest, and recharge on a regular basis.

Sleep is JUST as important as a good diet and exercise, as it contributes to the overall quality of our health and lives. Society, unfortunately, has this idea that rest can wait; grinding and working as much as we can just to earn a buck is more important than resting our bodies and getting quality sleep.

Absolutely not.

If we don’t allow ourselves to rest, if we don’t strive to get a decent amount of sleep every night, our bodies will literally shut down. It affects our thinking and decision-making skills, it affects our health and can lead to major health issues such as high blood pressure, heart failure, and some cancers, it affects our mental health, it affects our immune system by weakening it, and unfortunately, more.

Allow yourself the space and time to just be. Lay in bed or on the couch for a few hours on Saturday instead of rushing around running errands that can wait. Make a point to go to bed a little earlier, so you can try to get a decent amount of sleep, instead of watching that last episode. Take breaks at work instead of working through the whole day to finish a project. I promise you it can wait.

<aside> 🧚‍♀️ If you have trouble getting sleep at night, try Inner Peace™️. The herbs in this natural supplement are not only designed to help relieve internal stress, but they also help with getting restful sleep. When I take it before bed, not only am I able to fall asleep much faster (it seriously helps with the overthinking late at night), but I wake up feeling so refreshed and ready to start my day, instead of hating life. Drowsiness, where?

I promise you, you don’t have to be on the go all the time. You can do nothing and just exist. Existing is not laziness. Existing is our nature; we’re allowed to just exist and enjoy life. Doing nothing gives us the opportunity to recharge physically, mentally, and emotionally.
